Another Hawaiian trip done and dusted and every time more grateful for the time spent in the land of Aloha. Not quite sure if its the view from the front yard of my favourite beach shack, the waves, Ala Moana shopping centre or the plate lunches. But everytime when its time to leave the time spent was never enough.

Who wants to read someone else’s love letters? Not me. Which if I continued would be exactly what this is, so instead my Top 5 must do’s and some photo’s that hopefully do this amazing little stretch of sand some kind of justice.

SHARK DIVE Our friends at Island View Hawaii are the OG’s of Shark Dive Tours on the North Shore, and are true Hawaiian watermen with generations of knowledge of the ocean and the creatures that inhabit their waters. Having been multiple times on this dive it is something that never gets old, each time a truly unique and exhilarating experience. Witnessing sharks in their natural habitat in this way (no stupid cage no safely net) is something I will never forget. @islandviewhawaii

SUNSET / SUNRISE WALK  No matter where I am in the world an early morning or late arvo walk is always something that for me just sets the tone for an amazing day so in Hawaii it is extra special. Early mornings walking from wherever I am to Pipeline and then enjoying a dip out front before breakfast. Or on this last trip me and Laura took the long way home along the beach dragging my 9ft Mal no less from Ehukai to Log cabins and watched the sunset as we walked and stopped and walked some more while we took the whole thing in until dark. It was a leg burner of a walk but one of the best times of the trip.

SHOPPING!!!  Who doesn't love a little holiday shopping, no doubt if your on the North Shore which is where I always am No.808 is your go to store for the coolest vintage or one off finds as well as surf slogan chic tee’s and pull overs I miss this shop when I’m home. Or if your up for it Ala Moana will help you use up any extra pennies you had in the bank. FYI the Celine store is lifechanging.

SURF  Best times for me would have to be in the ocean with my friends from Hawaii surfing. always grateful that they share their secret spots, their waves and laughs.

ALOHA and MAHALO until next time Hawaii ……………….. x
